![]() ![]() ![]() Other suitors: Florida State, Florida, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State Blount was worth the hassle for Miami: After twice earning first-team All-Broward County honors from the Miami Herald at Dillard and winning a state title in the shot put for the Panthers in 2021, Blount transferred to Central ahead of the 2023 season and did his best impression of defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr., racking up 58 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Miami, however, stuck with the local defensive end, brought him to Coral Gables for an official visit over the weekend and got him to flip back to his hometown team on the first day of the early signing period. The elite defensive lineman spent a little more than a month committed to the Hurricanes from September until October, when he flipped his commitment to Florida State and reclassified from the Class of 2025 into the 2024 recruiting class. Blount’s recruitment was one of South Florida’s wildest in the Class of 2024 and it ends with Miami getting perhaps its biggest victory of the 2024 recruiting cycle. ![]()
